About Wytheville Redevelopment & Housing Authority (WRHA)

Wytheville Redevelopment & Housing Authority (WRHA) is a small public housing authority located in the heart of southwest Virginia Wythe County the crossroads of I-81 and I-77. The authority was established in 1968 to provide affordable housing to this locality. In 1983, the authority constructed an additional 110 units of housing, and within the past decade has constructed tax credit properties, town house rentals, and home ownership properties.

WRHA and WRHA Inc. offer numerous housing opportunities for individuals and families. In our public housing division, we offer apartments in size ranging from 1 to 5 bedrooms. The Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program offers a wide array of rental properties through private landlords. Our tax credit properties offer spacious apartments as well as single family dwellings. Through the partnership of WRHA and WRHA Inc. we offer 3 bedroom townhouses and will soon offer additional housing options in the
town of Wytheville.

The mission of Wytheville Redevelopment & Housing Authority (WRHA) is to assist low to moderate income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities to help them find safe, decent & sanitary housing. We act as advocates for residents; and serve the needs of those who live here as we encourage individuals to maximize their independence.
